Graphic Design

I took a graphic design course in the Spring of 2014. In this course, we were instructed to create several different designs that increased my knowledge and skill level in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. Our professor instructed us to leave crop and bleed marks in the design for grading purposes.

Type Face Poster

We were instructed to choose a font and create an image based off of our impressions of the font. Here’s my take on the font Riesling.

CD Cover

We were instructed to choose a song and recreate an album cover. This is my album cover for Beyonce’s Pretty Hurts. I used InDesign and Photoshop to combine three images. One of Beyonce with no makeup, one of her with drastic makeup, surgical markings and a surgeons hand on her face, and another of the All Seeing Eye pyramid.

Event Poster

For this project, we had to come up with an event and create a poster for it. I created an event called Bowling for Boobies. I used Photoshop and Illustrator to make this poster.

Book Cover

This was probably one of the most challenging projects we received in this course, but it turned out to be one of my favorites. We had to choose a novel that we’ve read before and recreate the cover. I chose Jacqueline Susann’s Valley of the Dolls. Since the book is centered around beauty and drugs, I felt that this image was both appropriate for the content, and would jump out at consumers if they saw it on the shelf at a book store.

 Identity

We were instructed to come up with a name and logo of a new energy drink company. Here’s my letterhead for my company, UNTAMED.

Identity Business Card

Here’s the business card I created for UNTAMED.

Packaging

After coming up with the identity for UNTAMED, we had to create a design for the cans and packaging. Here’s my design for UNTAMED.

Brochure

For this project, we were given the information about the company, pictures and logos that they wanted to include. Our job was to create a brochure with all the details the company asked for. This allowed me to not only show my creativity, but show that I have discipline to follow instructions and produce what a company has asked of me.
