Through my adolescent years, adults around me always stressed that “honesty is the best policy.” And I see today, dealing with media and the ethical dilemma’s surrounding it, this is very true. Companies have plummeted and lost accreditation simply for not telling the truth. I know in some instances it’s necessary to tell little “white lies” but, when dealing with major situations, being truthful is key. People will find the truth one way or another so you might as well tell the truth the first time then having to deal with the consequences of being found out.
Being truthful, in my eyes, is very important. I don’t like it when others lie to me and I strive to ensure that I am as truthful and transparent as one can be. There is no ethical support for lying and is duly noted in outr text that lying has companies a lot. This is why I would like to cover being truthful in my personal code of ethics.
